SUMMER

“"Our first summer holiday in Samoens. It's as beautiful as it is in winter and we've had a super time. Annecy is stunning. Chamonix well worth a visit& hiring a pedal boat on lake Leman a hoot! The children loved the lake at Morillon." Harbottle family 7/06

As the snow melts away in the valley leaving magnificent snow capped peaks, Samoëns bursts into life with a vast array of outdoor activities including: endless walking for all levels, waterskiing, paragliding, 600 km of mountain biking, white water rafting, canyoning, canoe-rafting, hydrospeed, rock climbing, via Ferrata, Indiana Park - an adventure assault course through the trees - potholing, and guided heritage tours. Samoëns is also perfectly placed to visit some of the wonderful surrounding areas and historic towns such as Evian, Thonon les Bains, Yvoire, Chamonix and Mont Blanc, Annecy and Geneva. There are also numerous golf courses set in stunning alpine scenery within an hour’s drive of the chalet.

Chalet Bezière provides the perfect base for exploring all the alpine activities on offer. From spring to autumn we can provide catered and B&B accommodation.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings & house. Loved our time here.” Ann, Karl, Daniel & Hannah Grills 8/05

Walking
The region is a paradise for walkers with over 900km of marked trails. There is something to suit all abilities, from walking along the valley and beautiful River Giffre, to serious mountain hiking up to 3100m altitudes. Trails are well marked and are easily followed using a map, or alternatively you may prefer to use the expertise of a local guide.

Mountain biking
Another fantastic way of discovering the Grand Massif is via the 600 km of marked mountain bike tracks. Again there are numerous roads and routes of varying lengths and difficulties. Several chair lifts are open in the summer, and save you a grueling climb. Bikes and helmets can be hired.

River Sports
The Giffre river cascades through the valley offering some great water sport activities including rafting and canoeing, airboat (a one person inflatable craft) and swimming in rapids (equipped with float, fins and reinforced wet suit) and, not for the faint hearted, canyoning.

Potholing
Samoëns is the location of one of the world's deepest potholes, the Gouffre Jean Bernard; guided tours are available.

Climbing
Lots of great climbing is accessible within minutes of the town, catering for beginners and experts.

Via Ferrata
A really fun activity, combining walking and rock climbing. Routes are equipped with cables and metal ladders, safety equipment, steps, bridges and ropes. Brilliant fun!

Golf
There are several championship courses in the area set in stunning alpine scenery including Les Gets (20 minutes drive), Flaine (45 mins), Chamonix (40 mins) and Evian (45 mins).

Air
Paragliding was invented just up the road. It is a fabulous alpine sport flying over the valley or over the most stunning summits. There are flights throughout the year accompanied by a qualified instructor. You can even do a paraglider pilot training course.

Fishing
There is first class trout fishing to be found in mountain rivers, streams and lakes. A fishing license is needed.

Outdoor Swimming Pool
With a main pool, beginner’s pool, paddling pool and 60m water slide. Remember to bring Speedos.

Adventure Parks
At the Tarzan-style Indiana Park, you can have great family fun crossing tree-top bridges, climbing rope ladders and whizzing down zip lines.

We will be able to help organize these activities as part of our service to you during your stay.

"Fantastic chalet. Fabulous place. Acid test is that everyone wants to come back. Parapenting is brilliant .. 3 boys, 8 and under, had a go. They also enjoyed the Indiana tree climbing. See you again in the winter."
